Which should I get for my rig?
CPU is i7 4960X
What would run the fastest? Should I maybe change out and consider a new CPU for my graphics cards? And lastly, is the 4960x effectively compatible with either of these graphic card choices/will it run as smooth as it possibly can with either of these choices?
(Gaming in mind)

Solution
A 295x2 costs about $1500. 2 x gtx780ti''s will cost about $1300

Its only worth spending this amount of money on 4k. But even with these gpu's you won't get as good performance as one gtx780 on 1440p

I don't think 4k is worth it yet. Wait till next gen cards and see if the costs drop.

Next down from 4k is 2k - 1440p. The 295x (2 x 290x's) and the 2 x gtx 780ti's are way over the top for 1440p - even multiple monitors.

One 780ti or one r9 290x would be heaps. A R9 290 or GTX780 will comfortably handle 1440p single monitor.

I want over the top. I'm aiming for 60-80 fps+ on anything max settings. 1440p was what I was thinking. With this in mind, what would you recommend? I play a lot of demanding games, such as Arma 3, Starcraft 2, DayZ, Crysis 2/3, and the Battlefields. 2-3 monitors likely.

2 x gtx 780's would be the go then for over the top 1440p.

You need a big case to put them in eg Corsair 750D, Coolermaster Stormstryker or HAF XM

You'll also need a 950W good quality power supply eg Antec HCG 900M, Seasonix X1050, Corsair AX1200
see http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html - get Tier one to protect 2 x 780ti's and a 4960x

Motherboard. I like ASRock X79 Extreme 6. But it's one of the cheapest.

This is gonna be about $3k worth of gear at least. You OK? Not on the floor?

Budget is unknown right now, I'll collect these parts over time if they're more expensive, if not, I'll get them quicker. Spending as little as possible on a machine that fits teir 1 with serious processing power is as you might expect, my goal.

They will cool themselves. Especially in abig airey case like the Stormtrooper.

But you should get a custom cooler for the cpu. Especially if you want to overclock it.

Maybe a Corsair H100i water cooler or a Noctua DH14 air cooler. The Noctua is cheaper and quieter. The Corsair is good for extreme overclocking.

Is the h100i difficult to install or use?
Okay, well, you've pretty much effectively covered most the questions I had about figuring out my build; THANKS! I'll keep all this in mind, and most likely use these recommendations. Think you could point me to some decently priced nice 1440p monitors?

Thank you for the help! That's all I'll be needing!
Though, back on the H100i, is that a difficult to install cooling system? Is it a hassle to use?
Probably the last question for the night

Not really difficult. Like everything check that its gonna fit and which way round you want it where - top, front or wherever. The most problems seem to be how to wire it up and use Corsair link with it. I think you get crappy instructions with it. But there's instructions on line if you know where to look.
