Hey guys my current PC specs are:
GPU :Gtx 560ti 448 cuda cores
CPU : Core 2 duo e8400 3.0 ghz
Memory : 4gb ddr2 ram

So now im thinking to upgrade my cpu and my ram ofc :/ I got a 4 gb ram 1333mhz laying around so if i buy new cpu i m gona put that one on it :/ So here we go my budget is abt 200$ or a bit more :p
Im thinking to rather get a i5 proccesor OR a fx 6300 ?
Which of these two would be great for gaming :/ So ik that i5 costs more and if i buy a i5 i would pay all my whole money but if i buy fx 6300 which it is cheaper i would have money to spare for a CPU cooler where i can overclock the fx 6300 and a better motherboard :D
But i hard the i5 processors are really good on gaming :/ Any i5 proc that costs no more than 150$ that is quite good ?
And what u guys suggest fx 6300 or i5

A few things to know:
1. LGA775 socket is long dead.
2. No CPU upgrade can be made on that motherboard. In other words, any decent upgrade will require you to change your motherboard. This may result in you re-installing your operating system.
3. Is the 4GB 1333Mhz RAM DDR3?

$200 is doable with a FX-6300 and a Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 or if possible, a M5A99FX PRO R2.0. i5 would already waste that budget leaving no room for the motherboard. Also, if that RAM is not DDR3, you will also need to leave some money for that. So a $200 budget can be harder to work with.

Depends. For gaming, not necessarily. Most games only use up to two cores. And only a few select games use more like Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs. And you won't be able to run those well at 4GB RAM and your GPU anyway.

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ($72.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($123.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($72.99 @ Amazon)
Good OC mobo, good cheap cpu, upgrade to something stronger down the road.
Total: $269.97

I included ram. AMD has no upgrade path and the socket seems to be dead.

not spending 270 for that :p I d better go with a fx 6300 because in the future i think games ill use more cores and fx 6300 is a smarter choice than a dual core :/ PLUS the g3258 doesnt support the hyperthread thing :p Id better buy a i3 and a cheap mobo than super mobo and cheap cpu :/

Good path choice for upgrade path later, but the only purpose of that would be to make use of the incredible overclocking ability of the CPU. You will need to include a CPU cooler AND a better motherboard. The Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI only has 4 power phases, so that's not great for overclocking potential. Just not a great path per that budget.

For gaming, i3 is better. No AMD CPU will match Intel in terms of gaming prowess as of the date of this post. And no, overclocking the FX-6300 won't get you the same performance as an i5 in terms of gaming.

However, the FX-6300 is still a good CPU. Great for multi-tasking and will not be producing noticeable bottlenecks in graphics card. However, in your scenario, you need not worry about it because your limiting factor will be RAM and your existing GTX 560 Ti. So neither the Intel nor AMD route will gain you any better performance because the bottleneck is not on the CPU end.

I5 will be faster, plus, there is no real upgrade path for amd.

You could go with an fx 8320 with a gigabyte 970a-ud3p mobo which should give you close to an i5's performance in most games

Edit:

Just checked and you will have to buy new ram so I don't think the fx 8320 will fit your budget. Looks like the Pentium or fx 6300 are your only choices
