Hi
I have a Asus Maximus VII Ranger motherboard with i7-4790K CPU. Asus have a software called Al Suite 3 where one can overclock manually, "auto" overclock, control fans etc. I just ran the auto overclock and chose 4.4 Ghz (which was the lowest i could choose). Im satisfied with the performance and temperatures, however, i do not know if the auto overclock disabled turbo boost, and if so, is the performance better/same/ or worse at 4.4 Ghz with no turbo boost vs 4.4 Ghz with turbo boost (4.0 Ghz stock and up to 4.4 Ghz with turbo boost)?

Solution
Turbo boost increases frequency depending on how many active cores you have.
1 active core - 4.4Ghz
2 active cores - 4.3 GHz
3 active cores - 4.2 GHz
4 active cores - 4.1 GHz

You overclock puts all 4 cores at 4.4 GHz. So you will have a bit more performance this way. Cheers.

So if i understand you correct, if all cores are active, the frequency with turbo boost will only give me 4.1 Ghz?
