So l want to connect to my router with an ethernet cable but for some reason l can't. l can connect with a wireless adapter, but since wired connection is faster l do prefer it. In the network and sharing center l have 2 connections. The first is the wireless connection, and this is working just fine, but below it there's the wired connection saying "Unidentified Network Private Network. In the adapter settings l see these 2 connections again but there's not a local area connection. And that's pretty much it. lf you want to know something more please leave a comment. Oh and by the way l have an Ethernet Card (my mobo does, it's an Asus Gryphon Z87)

That's interesting. Based on the above, you don't even have an Ethernet LAN adapter or it's conflicting with the Wi-Fi adapter.

Wireless:
IPv4: 192.168.1.1 (this is not your router as one would expect, but it's your wireless router and that's why the ping is 0ms)
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254 (this should be your router, but I can't be absolutely sure because DHCP Enabled is No which means you are using a static IP address)

If an Ethernet card was configured to get it's configuration from a DHCP server, you'd see something like this (not all lines are included):

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 1:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : xxxxxxx.yyy (it depends on your DHCP server)
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (controller make/model)
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : nn-nn-nn-nn-nn-nn (MAC address of your controller)
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.x (Preferred) - x shouldn't be 1 if it's already used by the Wi-Fi adapter)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : date and time
Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : date and time
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254 (not sure)
...

Do you see it in Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and Sharing Center? If so, how is it configured? In particular check if IPv4 is configured to obtain everything from a DHCP server and also make sure your router provides the DHCP service. If not, then use IP address 192.168.1.2 and set all other parameters similar to the Wi-Fi connection (default gateway 192.168.1.254, DNS servers, etc.)

I do see the ethernet adapter in Network and Sharing Center. But l don't have the knowledge needed now, l think l'm going to need some guidance here, can you please describe what l should do???

And the network adapter is named Intel® I217V?

It's the name of the network chip on your mobo. Anyway, please plug the Ethernet cable again and look at the little lights. One of it should lit constantly with a cable plugged in. Does it? If yes, run the ipconfig /all command again.

Yes! We are getting closer now! As you can see, the Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-V is set to DHCP, so it searches for a DHCP server on the other side of the cable. The DHCP server is typically build into your router. The IP address 169.254.237.57 tells us, that no DHCP was found, because it is a Windows generated default IP address. What's on the other side of the cable? Is it a router and is the DHCP activated / configured?

Did you reconfigure it? Is it's IP address 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1? Who manually configured the Wi-Fi controller with IP address 192.168.1.1?

I checked document http://www.wind.gr/files/1/support/exoplismos/exoplismos2zxv10-h108l-user-manual.pdf, but it doesn't provide info on how one enables DHCP and what IP range should be used. Don't change the WAN settings; otherwise you will lose connectivity to the Internet. Other than your PC, what else is connected to that modem? If nothing else, then switching to Ethernet won't help much unless you have an Internet connection that's faster than the Wi-Fi connection. You normally want Ethernet to access other systems at full LAN speed.

l confured the ip to be 192.168.1.1 because l have a minecraft server, so l had to port forward my router. YOu said modem, l don't have a modem, i only have a router. If you meant router, the only thing that is connected is my pc and sometimes a tablet l have. Also l want to change to Ethernet because the router is next to my computer, and having it wirelessly connected when l could have it wired is not the best option!!!
