So this is my first thread at this website and I came here because i'm more and more frustrated that my computer can't seem to handle even half-decently most games I throw at it... I'm not sure if it is the specs or something else (which I doubt cause I have re-installed Windows about 6 times)

My computer is this one: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=3942799&spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c01839039-28%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

I have changed it a little though:
Upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit
Upgraded Graphics Card to a 1GB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series Gigabyte Version (Overclocked out of the box)
Upgraded Power Supply to 400W (to support graphics card)
Plus i'm using a W2246 Monitor (1920x1080p @60Hz)

My first question is if there is something seriously old and in need of upgrading... Like a single component on my computer that's pretty much awful (i suspect the CPU but yeah)
My second question is what would I need to upgrade and to what I would upgrade but make my computer be able to run most games (not games like Battlefield 4 or that) at decent settings... My budget is as much as necessary and only the necessary! :p

Really appreciate the help and thanks in advance! :)

Well if you upgrade CPU, you can get core 2 duo but that's still old. Adding RAm won't really help because it's ddr2. If you buy a motherboard, your processor is not compatible with the board
You need to get the three of those together.

Everything is old. If you have the budget, get a new processor, motherboard and RAM. The graphic card is fine.
If you want to play Bf4, there's nothing that desperately needs an upgrade. You can play it most likely on low

Hey man, thanks for the quick reply! I just have a little question, if I were to choose to upgrade one of those 3 components, what would it be? And could you give me a sugestion to what I should upgrade to? Oh and about that Battlefield thing... My PC can't run Killing Floor at 60 FPS at medium settings and has major lag spikes on League of Legends when there are a lot of effects on screen...

The only thing you can upgrade "as is" is the cpu and add some more ddr2 RAM. Look on ebay for a Q9550 Q9600. I haven't looked but you will need to check if your motherboard supports those chips. You'll get some more performance because they are quad core, but don't expect a world of difference. As wow said, it's better if you upgrade to something more modern, even that 7770 is entry level and won't be able to push past 1080p at medium settings depending on game. What is your budget?
