External Hard Drive not Working

I accidentally connected my 1 TB HDD (WD My Passport) to a faulty media player, which was connected on high power source, this not only killed my hard disk but one of my 64 GB flash drive also. While I'm not bothered too much about the flash drive, I would really like to know if the content of my HDD could be recovered.
As I connect my HDD to my laptop the LED on the HDD comes up, and there is a small beep sound from the HDD. I can also feel a mild vibration on the HDD (same as when it is running).
Please help!

Solution
You most likely damaged the drive's PCB and/or it's electronics circuitry. The basic requirement to carry out data recovery yourself is that, to start with, the PC must be able to recognise and read from the drive. Without that, only a data recovery service can do it, and that doesn't come cheap.

I've said this countless times but I'll say it again: never rely on a single drive on which to save your data. Keep backups!
