Hi there, I want to play a game like GW2 on ultra for as low as price as possible, Ideally I would like a PC with 8gb of ram, an Nvidia GTX 660+ and at least a quad core processor of 3.1ghz, I already have a Amd Anthlon II X4 3.1ghz incase that will lower the price? I don't know much about building PCs or anything really, I just want to play some games at Ultra for as low a cost as possible, I live in the UK incase that is relavant, thanks in advance.

Solution

I think the only thing I would re use is the hard drive. That build above is more than enough for gw2 but if you can list your budget I may be able to tweak it

As I don't know your budget, I put together a rig that I think will play most games at high/ultra settings at 1080p for about 540 pounds with operating system (If you require)

Is my Amd anthlon ii X4 3.1ghz processor compatible with that build as it's more powerful than that i5 I think? Also, how good is that grapgics card in comparison to a Nvidia Geforce Gtx 680?

Can you please list all your specs (motherboard, hdd........) ?, an i5 is definitely more powerful than that Athlon but I may be able to cut some costs if I know what you currently have

A gtx 680 is more powerful than the 270X but I wouldn't recommend as it's way too overpriced when compared to an equivalent R9 280X or gtx 770 which is about 200 pounds (280X)

Not to be offensive or whatever, but tthe AMD Athlon X4 3.1Ghz is a terribly weak CPU. It's beat easily by an Intel Core i3-4130. The i5-4430 is many times as fast as your current Athlon.
