Hey guys, I have been looking at upgrading my CPU (and obviously my motherboard), Right now I am running an AMD A6-3670K 2.7GHz. Although in most games I get 40-50FPS Ultra/High sometimes I feel like it's holding back the rest of my system back, (I have an Nvidia GTX 660).

So I have been looking around for Ideas of processors that are reasonably priced (don't want to go over the top).
And I noticed that the AMD Athlon X4 (particularly the 760k sounds great for the price tag)

But is it as great as it sounds, what do other people think if this chip, for gaming mostly.

Is it possible that amd will do what they originally did with the Athlons by taking out the graphics of their best APUs again?

Like take the graphics out of the kaveri and clock it a bit higher and then market it as a budget CPU?

My CPU is the AMD Athlon 760K Black Box edition, and it preforms well on Payday 2, with roughly 50-60 % utilization. This CPU has a stock Clock speed @3.8 GHZ. The AMD catylist center (that comes with GIGABYTE drivers, and probably others) allows for an easy Overclock or "turbo" to 4.2 GhZ. If you do opt to overclock it, you will need some aftermarket cooling, I have the Corsair H80I mounted on mine... well my motherboard (the GIGABYTE GA-F2A88X-UP4) great motherboard by the way, is not letting the H80I mount. This is not a huge problem, just use a different aftermarket cooler. This CPU has insane speed while transferring files, playing games (demanding ones), booting windows, and opening and running programs. this is a CPU that I definitely recommend, and for the price, this Quad Core CPU can't be beat. Note: It has no integrated graphics, not a problem for you of course, but for the future. I would say to upgrade to an A-10 if you are still interested in keeping up with the whole APU thing. Some of the newer models of the APU's, like "Kavari" not only have good compute cores, but the compute cores are actually of "FX" quality, which is an enthusiast chip. So in all, A-10 series is your best bet!
