What's wrong with my network set up?

In the last couple days, my internet dies at around 12:30AM every day, my setup is a modem that goes through a router that goes to a voip box. I've tried resetting/unplugging/flashing...etc. everything and the only thing that works is to plug the modem into the phone box, then somehow, the phone box gets connection (if I tried plugging a computer directly to the modem, it doesn't work), but when I try plugging my router to the phone box it doesn't work, I have to unplug after it gets connection and return to my original setup. This is extremely annoying and took me a while to figure out. Which part of my setup is faulty and what can I do about it? I think it's the modem having trouble assigning ips, but when I try changing my ip on my computer, it doesn't work.

It is not necessarily your equipment!

If it happens at the same time every night, it could easily be something from the ISP.
A few years ago, I had a long running battle with my cable ISP provider. 3-4-5 nights a week, the internet connection would die. Multiple visits from service techs...eventually everything from the street to my monitor was replaced.

It turned out to be an upstream box of their was dying, based on temp and humidity. As I have been telling them for weeks.

Or, it could be some setting in your router. Any time based connection loss is either them, or just a setting in the router.
Your modems IP address should be 192.168.100.1

Log into your modem when the network is down and see if the internet connection dropped. If you can't get into your modem when the network is down (but you can while it's up), it could be the router.
