I recently got a new monitor and the only possible way to get it working is via a VGA cable. Every time I try using my HDMI cable and boot up my pc, it just says: No VGA signal detected.
Any ideas? Please help.

P.S I'm trying to see if it has anything to do with the bios and I'm using a Z87 sabertooth and a ProArt Series LCD Monitor PA238

Try hitting the input button or switching display modes in the options menu.

I have but it shows a black screen instead, so are the only possibilities now is that:
Graphic card's hdmi port doesn't work
Monitor's hdmi port doesn't work
HDMI cable doesn't work

Tvs pc option input are typically setup for vga if its connected to hdmi you will have to switch the tv to hdmi through input, if you still get a black screen switch to another mode then switch back to hdmi to refresh it.

You do have the most up to date video drivers installed, right?

Also grab another HDMI cable from somewhere, should rule out if its a broken cable or not. They are only around 5 bucks.
