R9 270x TDP is 170 watt and can run great on a good quality 450 watt PSU and 550 watt is more than enough to power r9 270x along with the system the system will barely reach over 250 watt while intensive gaming and even benchmarking.
There are some sites which will mention the power requirements for the GPU more than what is required because if someone gets a poor quality PSU with low amps on single 12+ volt rail then they are not to be blamed.
