Basically on Skyrim when im travelling i get lag spikes every 15 seconds, i play the game on ultra with AA turned off, i have tried uninstalling the HD textures but it makes no difference. It feels like the games is running out of allocated memory? ( i had the same problem with minecraft with texture packs)
my PC specs are..
AMD fx 6300
sapprire HD 7850 2Gb OC
8gb corsair vengence
1tb sshd
Can anyone help solve this as its really fustrating :(

By lag spikes, do you mean the game seems to hang up and jerk for an instant, or does the framerate just get lower? They're 2 very different things with different potential causes.

By the way, the SMAA injector works amazingly in Skyrim. I highly recommend it for good AA with nearly no framerate drop.
It won't solve your issue, but I just wanted to mention it since you said you were running without AA.

No, you're not running out of RAM. If Skyrim passes it's RAM limit, it crashes. VRAM is different ofc, but without a ton of HD texture mods there's no way you could even be near your VRAM limit anyway.

If it was running out of normal ram (not Vram) it would just crash. I suggest getting a program like MSI Afterburner, so that you can look at the GPU vram use, load, and temperatures. Look for something reaching its maximum and that can tell you if your dropping frames do to that. Another thing that could be the issue is on ultra the shadows are set very high, which in skyrim is more CPU restricted not GPU, so you might be stressing the CPU. Try lowering just the shadow settings.

Well, it just hangs, for example ill just be trotting along on a horse and it will freeze for about 1 second and then jump forward
