Noob question re RAM speed

I'm thinking of getting the following motherboard:

GIGABYTE Z97M-D3H Intel LGA1150 Z97 Micro-ATX

I had already bought the following RAM:

G-Skill 8GB Ripjaws X DDR3 2133 Dual Kit

I notice that in the specs for the motherboard it lists 2133(OC) as being a supported memory speed. I assume OC stands for "overclocking" - is overclocking the memory an entirely different procedure to overclocking the processor as if not I'll have to look for a different motherboard as I don't want to overclock the processor.

Solution
The (OC) indicates that to run at spec it may require an OC of the CPU or MC (memory controller) - for the most part 2133 can be done via the MC and a good BIOS will make the adjustment automatically (or try), if you have a weaker CPU may have to set up manually - what CPU will you be running?

Thanks for responding. I've not actually bought it yet but at the moment am thinking of going for :

CPU: Intel Core i3 4130 Dual Core CPU Retail (Socket 1150, 3.4GHz, 3MB, 54W, Extended Memory 64 Technology, Execute Disable Bit)

along with:

motherboard: GIGABYTE Z97M-D3H Intel LGA1150 Z97 Micro-ATX

Try them, can can initially try with XMP and see if it can handle 2133 under XMP (and it might with the loose timings), if no joy can try manually at 1866 10-10-10-30 1.6 and if no joy there drop to 1600 9-9-9-27 1.55, once you have a working combo can try adjusting timings more for best performance
