I am planning to buy the new i5 4690k, which is best mobo for it ? Purpose is for gaming, I have slow internet speed, 1mbps, so it should give me good multiplayer support.
PLUS, Which GPU is better and more future proof ? Radeon Sapphire R9 280X Toxic Edition or nVidia 770?

there really isn't a best mobo, all are good, just get any of the Z97 mobos that suites you.

I'd go with Asus, they had the best Z87s and the Z97s are even better, a lot will depend on budget, I'd look at the Z87-A, then the Pro, then the Hero heading up pricewise, I've got the Z97 Hero since I was extremely happy with my Z87 Hero, and the Z97 is much better

I thought to go for Asus too, but there are features like Lag killer in MSI one, are they legit and worth it ?

Yeah, Asus is a great mobo manufacturer. Get one of their mobos if you want one for gaming.

Well thanks for the quick answers and info!
You are like in every forum related to motherboard, recommending the Asus Mobo, I am not sure if you are fanboy or you work in Asus, but if you work in Asus I have a request to low your price in Asia like in India.

Asus has excellent gaming boards at the $200 and beyond range. If your looking for a cheaper gaming motherboard go with Gigabyte or MSI.

I personally am a Gigabyte fan and still am, mainly because Asus had terrible motherboard 5+ years ago. Now their motherboards are really good and just as reliable as gigabyte.

I only use three mobo brands for builds - Asus, the Rock and GB.....With the Z77's the Rock had the best overall mobos with the Extreme 4 as the Best, it's still the highest rated and best seller (mines in sig), with the Z87s, Asus was King and remains there so far w/ the Z97s...the AMD side is a bit more clouded, there I prefer GB and Asus

Okay that explains much.
Which one should I get for best value for money?
Z97 A
Z97 PRO
Or Maximus VII Hero ?

All three are good, and can make for a good gaming system, the Hero OCs the best and has the best overall BIOS and runs coolest ;)  Think I would try and factor overall budget in, if you go the A, that can provide up to about $50+ than could be applied to other components....I generally have clients try and lay down a drop dead budget, then we work to fit the best components in we can
