Super low framerate in Bf3

I usually get around 80-100 fps on the ultra preset on most maps. After i got off a game and got back on in a few hours, it was a slideshow. i was getting MAYBE 4-5 fps. i thought it was server specific at first but it persisted on every other server i tried. This issue seems to be isolated to bf3 only. other games like just cause 2, STALKER-lost alpha run just fine.
My specs-
FX-6300
2x4 gb kingston hyper-x blu
sapphire radeon R9-270 2gb
asus M5A97 LE r2.0
1tb seagate barracuda
corsair cx-500

Note- i'm running the 14.6 catalyst drivers and play at 1366x768

Solution
So, I was right with my second attempt at fixing the issue...it was a bad patch. That is ridiculous that they mess up their own game. Well, glad it got fixed. Good luck.

If you tried it on other servers...but all the servers were from EA/Origin...then it is probably an EA/Origin server issue across all their servers. If you try and play single player do you still get the issues?

I just tried it out and it seems to be prevalent in single player too. so it must be an issue with the game

i think i'm already running all the latest drivers, would rolling back to something like 14.4 help? i've heard it's very stable compared to the newer drivers that team red has put out

Probably not the case dude. I'm running a cx500 and it's powered my build just fine for the last 4 months. i played a heavily modded version of skyrim which is probably far more demanding than bf3 for 200 hours plus. to add to that, the issue is only on bf3. not even the BFH beta when i had it

Firstly Cosair CX sucks!! Look at reviews and comments regarding it. The first PSU I ever bought was a Cosair and it was DOA! Cosair makes decent RAM thought! LOL

Also, just because it has worked fine up until now does not mean it is NOT the issue. Some games may require more watts to be pulled from BOTH CPU and GPU. BF3 is both a GPU and CPU intensive game. Your FX-6300 is a 95 watt power hungry, 6 core chip! Try using a better, more powerful PSU and then play the game.

Just a suggestion, but that is what it sounds like to me. I'll leave others to speak from their experience. Hope you get it straightened out.

I don't think you get the point. EVERY other game i have is working just fine. FarCry 3 works just fine,AC4 works just fine. skyrim with a full fat ENB and 2k textures works just fine. Those games are far more intensive than bf3 is. PLUS i've already played bf3 for 20hrs plus and this issue has only started after a few updates. Why would my psu take a shit at the sight of bf3 and not some other game? The bfh beta ran on the same engine of bf4 and THAT ran just fine. And btw look up OC3D's vid on power consumption. at all stock clockspeeds by rig won't pull more than 250-300 watts on full load. The cx500, atleast where i live has gotten decent reviews and is one of the few good budget psu's on the market maybe you've had bad experiences with it but i haven't so far.

Okay, listen. As the original poster already said, it is not a power supply issue. Please either try and assist in solving the problem in another way (not mentioning power supply again and again), or leave the thread.

Did rolling back the driver help any? Also, maybe try reinstalling the game or drivers may help...just make sure to backup any saves you have.

Hey so i finally found the issue, it was a bad patch from amd that messed around with some settings in that gaming evolved app. fixed by "optimizing" the game in the settings. is AMD purposely gimping the performance if you don't allow the app to "optimize" your game?
