Hi all...I had guniea pigs in the same room as my PC...so the MOBO/GPU have a thin layer of sawdust covering them.

I have bought some compressed air already:

But at nearly £10 a pop...I'd rather have a cheaper alternative, and have already used the can I bought...after searching I've found this instead:

http://

Is this 2nd link okay? Am I missing something here...and perhaps he second link isn't okay to use? Or should it be ok? Also sawdust isn't worse for pcs than your standard dust is it? It just seems a little thicker I guess...

The Guineas have been evicted (Outside hutch) so this issue won't occur again.

It's generally used for cars, inflatables and other uses and it's handy.

My misses would kill me if I bought that contraption! Is the second lot of compressed air ok? Also do you think the sawdust on the components will be ok?

That second link should be OK.

Sawdust / dust same thing .... both are heat insulators so will make things hot .... only an issie in humid weaether where moisture absorption could be a bad thing.

As for the air can .... the propellant includes 3%-5% butane, 3%-5% ethanol, 1%-3% 3-butoxipropane-2-ol, 0.1%-0.25% ammonia. Alcohols have been known to damage certain types of plastics

There's a lot of people on both sides of the issue for isoprophy, ethanol and other "ols" but because of the fact that there are many, many different formulations, it's best to err on the side of caution. Don't turn the can upside down and stop using if you see liquid coming out.
