Hello,

I recently decided to upgrade my GPU. I'd like to get the GTX 770, and a new PSU (750 watt) to handle the card. Today, I went into a computer supply store and gave my specifications to a technician there. He told that the GPU and the power supply would not fit into my case, and I would have to essentially build my own, starting with a new tower.

My specs (HP-Envy 700-149):
(Motherboard form factor is uATX, tower is 16.7 in x 6.8 in x 16.2 in)

The GPU I'm looking to install:

The PSU I'm looking to install:

I guess my questions are:

1. Will a new PSU fit and will I have all the connectors I need?

2. Is there enough room for the GTX 770?

3. Am I missing any other considerations?

Thank you for your time. :)

Hi - I agree with the tech & MOjO, you need a bigger tower for that GPU. Altho, you have the means
to verify yourself better than we do. You need to measure from the rear panel of th case along the
GPU's pcie slot to the nearest obstruction, most likely your hdd bays. You need 292mm of clearance for the
card to fit (I don't think it will).

If you have enough space that way, then you need to eyeball & make sure that the mobo's
RAM slots/sticks will allow the GPU to be inserted.

PSU won't be an issue, as ATX PSU's are std width & Ht, only length can differ.

I'd invest in a new case.
