Before I start the set up I would like to know these answers.
Regarding how many file copies should I keep WD Passport Ultra allows1 to 25 file copies. How many should I keep?
I have the option to back up everything do I really need to do that? Why would I emails be backed up aren't they stored already in your inbox?
I only want to back up video's, music, photos, documents can somebody recommend other items that I need to back up that I am clueless about?
Then there is the option Retrieve Which allows me to keep in same folder or make a new folder or browse for a specific folder that confuses me. Please tell me any suggestions Thanks

How many copies to keep is up to you, how many old version do you want to be able to back out to. 5 is usually more than enough for me.

backup everything - this is for when your main harddrive dies and takes everything on it with it. While some people dont mind only backing up their important files (like family pics) and spending all day reinstalling windows, their apps, their games, resetting their online passwords because they cant remember them... I prefer speed. and backup everything.

other items to backup - game saves. emails if you donwload them off the server (and delete them on the server), browser favorites/bookmarks, browser stored passwords, app settings

retrieve is when you browse one of you backed up volumes you create to find and restore a file or three, rather than restoring everything you backed up. You find the file you want and then have to say where you want to restore the files to. So that can be: the default folder or right back into the same folder it was backed up from.
