Same. Just bought this board Asus Z97 this weekend and built a new PC. The salesman made a point to note the 'Crystal Audio' chip on the motherboard and said it was great sound - I ran all the driver instalsl on the mboard enclosed DVD, and have run windows update. However, nothing shows up in Windows in the 'sound' panel other than our USB headphones - and the jack is dead (green for normal simple audio out).
I do see "Real Audio..." driver installed in device manager, and when I go to the ASUS Z97 site to look for a driver under 'Audio' there is a single zip file for Real Audio driver - however, Windows 7 x64 doesn't show any option for the external speakers in the sound panel.
Any suggestions? Anyone? Is there a toggle or onboard switch or something to enable the audio? A setting in the bios somewhere?
I do have a new NVidia video card that has a high def audio capability - does that somehow negate the Real Audio chipset?
