I will be using my computer on a 1080p monitor. And only playing sound through my headset. I would like to use dvi if there isn't a difference because my monitor only has 1 HDMI port and I'm already using it. Thanks for the help.

DVI and HDMI carry the same video signal, you will get no visual difference between the two.

HDMI can also carry audio so it is useful if you need audio from your monitor

HDMI just has the ability to pass the sound to the monitor/TV. If you are plugging your headset into the computer it doesn't matter, you will only be sending the sound over HDMI if you wanted to use the speakers built into the display the HDMI is connected to.

No, you would plug in your headphones to the audio jack on the front of your PC. HDMI carries mainly video signal, not only audio. It is for monitors only, never for some other peripheral.

If Im not wrong , dual dvi can carry frequency of over 60hz (e.g 120 Hz)and while hdmi is restricted to 60hz.
