I need a copy of a bios for an ASUS M4A785D-M PRO

Dear friends,

to cut the long story short; I flashed the bios of my M4A785D-M PRO mobo (the actual physical chip) externally using my SPI flash programmer with a bios file from ASUS's website. Although everything is working great, the realtek ethernet adapter shows in device manager as yellow exclamation mark and 'error code 10' device cannot start. This is a very common problem and it has happened to me quite a few times when I flashed chips with my SPI flash programmer. The only remedy was to find another working motherboard of the same model, copy its BIOS and then flash that specific BIOS into the original BIOS chip (the problematic one). I am sure this has to do with MAC address and UUID not being copied properly or wiped out from the BIOS when the chip is flashed externally, i.e. outside the motherboard, with an SPI flash programmer. For some reason the above mentioned procedure works.

Therefore, I am kindly ask anyone who has got an Asus M4A785D-M PRO motherboard if he/she could make me a copy of their BIOS and send it to my email! I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks in advance!

It's no problem I'm not offended at all. I understand what you're asking for just not sure why the bios from Asus will not will not work or maybe that's what I missed in your post. I ask about trying one of the other bios from Asus because isn't it risky to attempt to flash your bios with random files downloaded from just about anywhere?

I don't doubt your experience I just found it an odd request and was interested in finding out more. Sorry for wasting your time.

please no offence dear friend, but have you read what I wrote? No BIOS from the Asus website works. I need someone with the same motherboard to make me a copy of his BIOS.

NO worries. There is a Russian guy, the one who wrote FD44copier and FTK programs who explains this in a forum post. The problem is that for some reason, when you flash some BIOS chips with ASUS' website bios file using SPI flash external programmer, sometime the Lan adapter might stop working properly, under windows at least, showing error code 10 device cannot start etc. The method I have tested working, if one gets error 10 after flashing with the SPI programer, is by flashing again with a BIOS from a working motherboard of the same model. The russian guy I mentioned describes in that forum post another method using his own program which involves modifying or partly flashing the bios, only the region which concerns the LAN details, i.e. MAC etc. That method though is only for modern motherboards (if I understood correctly), not older ones like my M4A785D-M PRO.
