This is going to be my first build for a PC. I will be using this computer for playing games like DayZ and video editing with After Effects. I am wondering if these specs would be able to do that. Also, are they compatible with each other? If you guys have any suggestions on things I should change please tell me.

Are you using CS6 or Creative Cloud?

CS6 needs CUDA while CC can use AMD for Open CL

Get a better cooler

Haswell is better and Xeon E3 has 4c+hyper threading like i7 but cheaper

stuck with R9 280 for now

cheaper but still reliable ram

larger HDD but same price

larger PSU but good quality as made by Seasonic

your case is pretty pricy so might want to change that
