My computer is freezing in all the games I play, requiring a system restart to use. No distinct event happens before the freeze. I have all ready updated my drivers, I checked temperatures of my GPU & CPU both in safe operating ranges, and I've tried in multiple games, Planetside 2 (Steam), Star Citizen, Arma 3, and Divinity: Original Sin.

I just purchased a new processor and motherboard (i7 4790k and Asus Hero VII) two weeks ago and I also did a clean install of Win 7 Pro 64bit on a SSD 240GB a week ago.

My guess is that the freezing is related to the processor and maybe some weird throtlling in BIOS however I am unsure, any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

My Specs:

CPU: I7 4790k (Clock Speed)
Motherboard: Asus Hero VII
RAM: 8GB DDR3 (Clock Speed)
GPU: Geforce GTX 770 with ACX cooling
PSU: Gold Silent Pro 775 Watt

You could check all connections, make sure you have the latest drivers for the chipset. PSU too, could be going bad. You might have to buy a new SSD, I'm not sure if there could be any compatibility issues. Maybe someone else can shed some light on the SSD compatibility.

Check your bios to see which mode your in ie: AHCI, Raid or native IDE and let us know. It could be just an issue with how its set up.
