I built a new pc, the parts are as follows; i5 4670k, cooler master hyper 212 cpu fan, EVGA geforce 770 2gb, 16gb Corsair ram, 512gb ssd, msi z97 1150lg gaming mb, 750watt psu. It runs both watch dogs and titanfall on high setting. FPS will drop to 15 and below while fighting large packs in diablo. Both CPU and GPU temps run mid 30s, never higher. Speedtest.com shows 19ping, 30.53 dl speed and 9.77 upload speed. Any suggestions? All drivers are updated, i've tried reverting graphics drivers, lowering settings, changing the hardwareclass #, repairing/reinstalling, and removing my antivirus software. Any ideas welcome, Thanks.

That has more to do with Diablo servers than your system, especially if you are playing with others online. When I am playing with a few people online, and we are all spamming all of our abilities against hordes of monsters, then there are times the game lags badly too, and I have a super beefcake rig.

I had the same problem until I bought an ssd, as I see you have one, make sure it is installed on the ssd (in case you have a mechanical drive too) and try lowering the background frame speed in the graphics options

I play Diablo 3 of a mechanical drive at over 100 FPS across 3 1080p monitors so an SSD isnt your savior. Please elaborate on low FPS like how low? at what settings? and what resolution....? more information means easier diagnosis my friend.

The game loads a lot of info on the fly so you will get better performance running it from a ssd, you are lucky to get good performance from a mechanical drive, I know a lot of people who improved their game experience with an ssd.

That makes no sense.... really... See we have Random Access Memory so necessary files and data are checked into the ram to be quickly accessed and processed. Hence why when you load into a new area there is a loading time.... at that point necessary data is queued and stored on the ram.... a SATA mechanical drive is more than capable of transferring necessary data fast enough to perform at any rate. On that note an SSD doesn't generally improve FPS in fact has little to do with it. FPS increases and decreases will factor on your CPU, GPU, and If you have the proper amount of ram for the program in question. Your SSD will just reduce the amount of time you sit in a loading screen.

I understand what you say, but from what I know Diablo 3 plays better with an SSD, if you play from an SSD it won't lag like it does with a Mechanical drive, because from what I know the game loads a lot of stuff on the fly.

My game doesn't lag... not even slightly. none of the friends I have who play the game off their mechanical drives have any form of latency. I'm not trying to combat you so i apologize if it seems as though I'm trying to belittle you I just don't want you to be misinformed or for you to accidentally misinform others.

Ok no problem, I didn't believe it myself, but I got my SSD to play Diablo 3 and my gaming experience improved a lot, here a link with some info on the problem.
