May have damaged my motherboard.

So I'm a first time builder and was assembling my motherboard outside of the case before putting it in to make sure the parts work. I was finally done assembling and all I needed to do was touch the panel power with a screwdriver to start up the very basic's of the computer/POST. Problem was, I touched the wrong panel with the screwdriver and I may have static'd it. After I realized it was the wrong panel, I found the right one and tried to short the pins of the actual power panel, but nothing happened. No POST. I think I may have static'd the motherboard because when I touched the wrong pins I heard a small shock noise and felt it in my hand through the screwdriver. Do I need to get a new motherboard? Or are all the parts on the motherboard at the time shot, too?

Solution
That's a bummer! Just get the Motherboard. Re-install everything. If you did fry something else then you'll get an Error message at post time. Most likely just the Motherboard is toast.

But if it's just the motherboard that is fried, will the computer even post?
