No Drivers for TV Tuner in Win7, need advice

I did a custom build, and took the TV Tuner from my older Gateway PC and plugged it into my new one. I have searched all day for a way around this, but Gateway only has drivers for Vista (that I could find). Im running Win7 64bit now. It says it installs, but cannot find the program. Computer acts like it is invisible. Tuner not found in Windows Media Center, and not found in devices either.

I am wanting to capture audio/video from a VCR to edit and convert on my computer. I didn't want to have to buy a video capture USB adapter if I don't have to. The TV tuner that I have is 6003130R Asus/ViXS Combo-210E NTSC/ATSC TV Tuner.

Thanks in advance for any help, I've been working on this most of the day.

have already read that thread. When I try to right click on the .exe file there is no properties option or anything. Perhaps that was only in the Vista they were describing. I'm guessing I'll have to buy the usb capture adapter.
  2. seems that's the thing with windows - new windows removed stuff that worked for you and been replaced with stuff that you don't want or need
  3. well the best I can see is your stuck with the gateway driver .. vixs don't seem to list or support it them selves if you go to get a new one try to look at who giving the best support overall as far as old or new drivers and Linux compatible
