Will My System Bottleneck ? i7 860

I currently Have My rig like this : Intel core i3 530 3.0 GHz.
Mobo : EVGA E650 SLI.
8 GB RAM OCZ GOLD.(i dont know the mhz thought)
SAMSUNG HD1514UI 1.5 TB HDD
850 watts Power supply its from corsair ...
XFX Radeon HD R7770 Ultra OC Edition 1GB DDR5.

My question is ... i want to upgrade the Cpu .. and i dont have that much money if i had i'd buy another mobo and an i5 4670k ... but im currently viewing an i7 860... and i have the money for it...

So my questions are... Can i upgrade the proccesor and use the stock cooler im currently using?
and if do upgrade my system ... will my cpu bottleneck the gpu or vice versa?

An i7 860 is about as powerful as a FX6300 per http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html which is about as powerful as soem i3's. Dunno what i3 you have.

I doubt the upgrade will be worth it.

If you get new processor it should come with a new cooler, so you don't have to worry about re-using your current one.

That GPU is pretty weak, so that processor, though quite old, will still do the job and probably won't bottleneck it much if even at all, though of course, bottlenecking is always dependent on the game you play and how CPU bound that game is. Still, for the vast majority of things that CPU will be just fine and will probably match your HD 7770 just fine.

As for the actual performance gains well, it depends on the game. More modern games will probably benefit from the extra 2 cores so you'll probably notice stronger performance in games like BF4 or something like that. I'm guessing your current i3 is either an i3-540 or an i3-530. Well either way, the per core performance difference between either i3 and your prospective i7 doesn't exist. On a per core level, they perform the same, so with some games you won't notice any difference at all.

So here's my advice: If your prospective i7-860 is anywhere above $70 US/~£40, it's probably not worth it and you should probably just wait until you have the money to upgrade both your mobo and CPU.

UPDATE: No one's bidding on this. It's used, but it's also $10, so even if it doesn't perform to expectations, it's still probably well worth the $10 (assuming no one continues to bid on this):

ill try and bid on that cpu... if it gets past 70$ i wont buy it ... and better start saving money for the mobo/cpu.

But what if i buy a used one on ebay... that doesn´t include the stock cooler... can i use the one i have its the same lga1156.. can i use it?

I don't see why not, as long it is the same type of chip, if it fits your current motherboard and your curent stock cooler works with the motherboard it should works for the new chip too. I recommend getting some new thermal paste though, and clean off the old one.
