Hi guys, I have been wanting to build my own computer for a while, and am actually further than halfway through, but id like someone to tell me if all the parts i bought/will buy are compatible and if they are efficient enough to run the most recent games no problem.

The parts consist of:

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze (TX750)

ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Cooler Master HAF 922 - Mid Tower Computer Case with USB 3.0 Ports (RC-922M-KKN3-GP)

Seagate Barracuda 7200 1.5 TB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s 32MB Cache 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Drive ST31500341AS-Bare Drive

Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CML8GX3M2A1600C9B)

Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)

AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition

Corsair Hydro Series Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H100i

XFX RADEON Double D R9 280X 1000MHz BOOST Ready 3GB DDR5 2XmDP HDMI 2XDVI Graphics Cards R9-280X-TDFD

I haven't bought the graphics card, a keyboard, the windows disc, or a headset for it yet. First id like to know if these parts are good and work together. Then if anyone could tell me if that graphics card that I put up is worth it to buy. I am willing to pay for a more expensive card since its a gaming pc and i can just save up. Thanks for looking at my post and answers appreciated.

This build is fine, but there are ways you can get similar performance at a lower price. I'm surprised that you're already interested in overclocking your CPU on your first build. Drop the liquid cooler , don't overclock. You could get a i5-4590 which is better for gaming. And I highly recommend that you get the WD Caviar Blue 1Tb instead. Western digital's HDDs are better.

if you have extra budget get a mechanical keyboard, a gaming mouse, and an ssd :)

Before you spend on a an overpriced mechanical keyboard, I highly recommend that you try one at a local electronics store. I bought the CM Storm quickfire TK Cherry MX Brown , and I don't think that the high price is worth the extra durability and feel. My Dad's old logitech rubber domed keyboard still works after 14 years.

The best cheap ergonomic mouse I've used is the Gigabyte GM-M6800. It should cost less than $15. It has a very ergonomic shape, but it's pretty light and is made of cheap plastic. As long as you don't drop the mouse, it should last.

The current mouse i'm using is the corsair M95. It's also very ergonomic, but the laser sensor and high DPI doesn't make a difference for me. I rarely use 8200 DPI. I usually use 2000 DPI. the sniper button is pretty useless, but the multiple side buttons can be a life saver in some games.

So before you buy any peripherals, go try it out first.

By the way thanks for commenting, but what if I already bought the water cooler, should I try and sell it, or could I put it to use? All of the items I listed except for the graphics cards I have bought already. Truth be told I got most of these parts just because they were on sale on I heard good reviews on the website. And its same for the graphics card. I'm not looking for the most efficient route yet, right now I just want to know if I were to put together this computer tomorrow with a 280x g card and all the other parts would it work and would it be good. Im in a pickle because I bought most of the parts already. Im only sixteen and bought them with at least 2 years of christmas and birthday money.

Ok cool, and thanks for the advice too, about not needing some things or another. I will definately come here again with my questions. Im looking to be able to build computers like this all the time when I get older and have the time and money. Again thanks for your help and have a good day.
