I recently picked up for free from a garage sale an old pc. It is an E series made by Gateway and It has:

Pentium 4 processor

ATX intel type: D845HV motherboard

2x 256Mb SDR memory cards

NVIDIA 8878 ver: 310 Graphics Card

perfectly functional 250W PSU.

I've taken it all part to clean it and put it back together and it powers up but nothing show on the screen. It also does not make any sounds or anything out of normal. I also replaced the battery from the motherboard and I just don't know what to do or how to test the different components! Any ideas? Thank you!

I had the same problem after buying a brand new video card for some reason I had to install my old video card then install the drivers for the new card then I put the new card in and it booted so if the drivers are not loaded for the video card it can do that also I suppose you have no cd to install drivers you will need a known good video card with the proper drivers to check I know no other way with no screen coming up you can't even get to bios good luck.

Yes, everything is pluged in correctly, I even tested the PSU with a multimeter and all the plugs are giving the right Voltage. However, I do not have another GPU to test with.

Is there a way to test the current one? And also the motherboard?

almost all p4s come with an on the motherboard gpu... see if you have a vga port on the back of the io pannel for that computer. if you do there is an onboard gpu. just plug the monitor into the vga port and pull out the graphics card. see if the system will boot.
