I recently felt nostalgic and downloaded a free trial of RollerCoaster Tycoon from online. After I downloaded it and tried to play the game, it kept crashing after only playing for only a few minutes. Well, my brother has the game and loaned the cd to me to use instead. Now, whenever I try to play the cd, the downloaded trial screen comes up. I thought maybe if I finish the trial, I could play the game from the cd, not the one I downloaded from online. However, after I finished the trial and tried to play with the cd, the trial screen keeps popping up. I tried to uninstall the downloaded game, even all the files from the website that I downloaded it from, but that trial screen still keeps popping up whenever I try to play the game. Whenever I go into my control panel to uninstall programs, these files are nowhere to be found! I now have 0 minutes of the trial left, and no other way to play the game. I am not that well literate in all the computer technology, and don't know how, if there is any way, to get rid of the trial version of this game so that I can just play the cd.

Hmmm...

This is why I never uninstall programs using the control panel.

Go here on your computer: C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86).

If I recall correctly, the game (or trial you downloaded) would be stored in one of those locations in the folder named "Hasbro Interactive".

Find that folder, delete it, then try installing the full game from that disc you borrowed.

Often times, when you uninstall a program using the Control Panel, it removes many of the files necessary for the program to run, but sometimes it will leave behind remnant files so next time you install the program, it'll keep it's previous settings.

That's why anytime I uninstall something, I take a visit to the Program Files folders and make sure it's gone...

Hope this helps!
