you cannot buy "Basic" it would have to be Home or Pro. I would go with Home, there is a little less extras on it and keep it lite for the rest.
I would actually suggest trying Linux, if you are just going to web surf and not really do much with it. Ubuntu is easy to load and use. Just no iTunes with it.

i still smart with windows. Windows 8 can be work and have some trick to get expand display. Windows 8 and 8.1 can work on netbook it work on my netbook!!!!
