So Ill make this short.

I have a desktop with a wireless NIC (.100) and a Wired NIC (.99) both set with static IP's. They are both on the same LAN network and can reach outside the network with the same gateway,DNS.

For some reason when the Wireless NIC is active and connected i can log in to my NAS box and read write to my share folders just fine, but if I'm connected with my Wired NIC the web page for the NAS wont load and I can view but not read from or View the share folders. It doesn't make any sense the NAS is set up to accept all incoming IP'S.

Does any one have any ideas?

I am assuming that you are disconnecting one and connecting the other since windows has massive issues with 2 nic active at the same time on the same subnet.

I would suspect the PC has different security settings for the wireless nic and the wired nic. I would check the security settings for the nic and make sure your pc is not blocking the traffic.

Can you ping the .99 and .100 from the NAS? Yes and not only that the PC can SSH/TELNET and ping the NAS.

First off thank you corroded for trying to help.

I did a soft reset on the nas that wipes out the basic configuration stuff, and suddenly the desktop was able to connect.

On the file system side that was my stupidness. I had turned on ACL security and added the IP of my main windows server to the explicit allow list, which in turn made it so no other IP could connect. I hadn't done this to any other folder and was just playing around so I forgot about the setting.
