What are you using to overclock? Bios or UEFI? What motherboard?

Mobo spec - http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty%20990FX%20Killer/...

says to use ASRock UEFI System Browser. Have you installed it from the disk that came with the motherboard (or from the website)?

The CCC test OCs the GPU, but not the CPU. For OCing the CPU, use AMD's Overdrive. But I recommend you use the UEFI.

I'd recommend using the Bios as well, it's much easier than having a windows software to do the overclock. Using the multiplier in the bios is probably the easiest way to try and overclock as well.
