That will work together but it is quite an outdated graphics card. Are you getting it cheap or something? I would try getting a better card. Also, you can try overclocking your CPU to get a little better performance, but I don't think you will notice all that much of an improvement.

You might have to upgrade your PSU in order to get a new GPU. Do you still have the PSU that came with it from HP?

Yes, the card is compatible and i don't think the CPU will bottleneck the GPU because both are equally old

your power supply won't cope. that gpu requires a 6 pin pci-e cable. you've only got 250W and so probably don't have one.

well this is a pretty old CPU you have there. as of it do not buy and old Graphic card since you pay more for less. Wait and see for what other have to say. Some will want you to change your whole computer but my guess would be your computer can handle a little R7 240 or even a R7 250.

R7 240 price: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r72402gd3lp (around 45$)
R7 250 price : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r72502gd3oc (around 70$)

Both these cards are superior to a GTS 450

Well yeah. I'll get a 450w PSU.
And i'm getting that card (Zgts450) for like 60$ Is it a decent buy?
Thanks brother.

maybe a decent buy. But a R7 250 cost 70 $ and will outperform this card

That is a tough call. Because the r7 250 has better processing power than the gts 450, but the gts 450 has 1gb of DDR5 RAM, where as the r7 250 has 2gb of DDR3 RAM, and 1gb of DDR5 is better than 2gb of DDR3. I really don't know which would be better. But I am leaning towards the gts 450 with the DDR5 over the r7 250 and its DDR3.

GTS 450 can run 1080P if this if your question. but if you want to know if you will be able to play a certain game in 1080P, we need to know which game you are planning to play :p
