Hi people, my cpu has been acting wierd, my pc freezes randomly and the only way to trigger it, is by running prime or other stress test for the cpu, it runs for about 10 seconds then freezes, happens aswell with memtest 86, but only if i test the ram using the 4th core of the processor, once it works that core, the pc freezes, any help here? or i need to RMA my cpu? i5-3570K

Im running an i5-3570k with an ASUS GTX 650-Ti Turbo Boost.
My motherboard is an Asus P8H77M-LE and the PSU is an Halfmman Ultrapower FX2 550W.

The CPU cooler i am using is the one that came with the actual CPU

The temperature wasnt the problem because i tested it this morning, with the pc cold, and the results wre the exact same as last night.

As for the voltages, you can see them here:

Thank you in advance!

First, I would try running memtest with only 1 memory stick. And then with just the other one, to see whether this affects the 4th core.

The second thing that is obvious here is the low-quality power supply, in terms of the quality of their capacitors and other components. They sometimes cannot deliver even the half of their rated power, so when you stress your CPU it becomes too much.

Could you (just to eliminate this possibility) try with a better power supply? It does not need to be higher than 450W, but it should be a quality one, like XFX Core, Corsair AX/RM/HX/TX, Coolermaster V series, or pretty much any Seasonic. If you can borrow one just to test, even better.

Are you overclocking? If so, 4 pins are not enough for that CPU. You need all 8. Which also means that you either need a better PSU with that connector or some kind of adapter from regular molex to this additional 12V 4 pin.

If you are not overclocking, I would still try to reset BIOS with CMOS jumper.

No i am not actually overclocking, i'm running with every setting from retail.

I will buy the new PSU in the following weeks and will get back to you if the problem persists, thank you for all the help you have given.

What will the BIOS reset do?´

I think my GPU is overclocked from retail, because, it is a GTX 650 Ti Turbo Boost 2gb DirectCU OC II, and i think the OC means overclocked.
