Those cpu's will about perform equal, the gpu is the more limiting factor.

you can choose the r9 280 if you don't want PhysX from the NVidia card, as the r9 280 is cheaper and faster

if not overclocked ? intel is better but since this FX CPU has 6 core, future game will probably make this CPU a better choice in long term since API like Mantle will force every other API (D3D and Open GL) to take more seriously cpu with more than 4 logical cores.

If you don't overclock, stock CPU fan should do the job

Also, if you go for a R9 280, get something a little bigger than a 500W PSU

With a $600 budget you wont get a motherboard that'll OC well if it OCs at all. So a CPU cooler is not needed you can use the Stock cooler. And the CPUs are very close in performance.

Theres nothing wrong with going with a 500w PSU with a 280 so long as its not a shitty PSU like Corsair CX series. Especially since this is a super tight budget build the mobo that he ends up going with will probably not be able to OC well so the build will run at stock speeds which would take around ~370w. The cards have high "minimum wattage" recommendation because they take into account the possibility of using shitty PSUs

Thats the PSU i put in my build to begin with. I dont understand why people dont use it when making builds its one of the best PSUs at that wattage and price

Maybe just because of that price, you want to get the best out of a budget, and maybe that it's not officially haswell compatible. The evga i chose also not if i'm not mistaken, but haven't seen a lot of complaints about it.

Well got that wrong, the evga is,got this from their site,

Ready for 4th Generation Intel Core Processors (C6/C7 Idle Mode)

The evga 500b uses much cheaper Chinese caps (Capxon and Teapo) while the 600b uses mostly all Teapo caps which is a bit of a step up from Capxons but still low quality when compared to the XFX which uses all Japanese Capactiors

I would personally spend a bit more for the xfx or if money is really tight I would go with the evga 600b which is a bit better than the 500b
