4k is 4 times FHD (making sense),
but 2k resolution is only 1.7 times FHD.

5k resolution is 6.6 times FHD.
8K resolution is 16 times FHD.
What does K means?

Yes.
More specifically, we say "4K" because there are approximately 4000 vertical lines (3840x2160).

Also, 4K is NOT because it is 4X 1920x1080 (2x1920 for vertical). That is just a coincidence.

This can be confusing as there are a few 4K resolutions. It is just a generic term thought roughly translates into the display having 4000 horizontal lines. The most common one and the first one That I saw a review for was the more known 3840x2160. I would not know what to call it but 4K would not be my first choice, but it is better than Double WQHD or something. But I think it is also known as UHD.

Also it is a Fixed 16:9 ratio like 1280x720, 1366x768, 1600x900, 1920x1080(full HD) 2560x1440(WQHD)
3840x2160, And that is no coincidence that the number of horizontal lines is double that of 1920x1080
