Hey Tom's!

For a very long time now i have been running low fps in all sorts of games (BF4 around 50-70fps though) The worst kind of games that i get low FPS is in MMO's like WoW and WildStar...

This is what i did:
Updated drivers recently
Cleaned my system for dust
Wow Ultra settings - 24-35 FPS
Wow low settings - 26-42 FPS
Wildstar Ultra high settings - 20-27 FPS
WildStar Ultra low settings - 23 - 32 FPS

As you can see lowering settings doesn't really change the outcome of the performance, i have done this in several games, the change in FPS is minimal from ultra to low.

Rig:
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
CPU - AMD FX 8120 3.1 Ghz
GPU - Sapphire AMD HD 7850 OC 2Gb
MOBO - Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
RAM - Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1600 TC 8GB
PSU - LC-Power 850W "Arkangel"14cm Modular (80+Bronze)

Thanks for taking a look :-)

More about : low fps game

Upgrade your cpu, al the games with low fps you listed can only use 1-2 cores, that's why you are getting low FPS, getting something like an Intel 4690k will resolve your issues, and the reason you have good FPS in bf4 is because it can utilize all your cores.

bf3 is normal the gpu is a bit worse than an 660 which is gettin old so.. but for wow that fps is joke unless you don't play on 4k 3x monitors or your pc is overheating.I can tell you if its overheat is normal mine 770 is overheating to 80c so when i play the forest 1440x900 ultra i get 90-120 fps but in 10-15 mins the fps goes to 45-50 just cause my gpu just hit 83c so.. if your case is such as atx or mini atx yes your system will heat

awefull advice robijn112,
It was working fine before.

If he switches to intel he will have to invest 350-400$

No first off, you power supply is a low quality. It might be failing.
Also, your gpu isn't all that good either, but since BF4 was working ok before. I don't think their is a problem there directly.

First off, download adwcleaner, roguekiller and malware bytes form bleepingcomputer.com to rule out malware.
Second, if you could test out with a know working PSU would be great.

You also may want to check your temperatures with HWmonitor, speedfan or core temp for your CPU and msi afterburner for your GPU.

Good luck

I have a NZXT Phantom case fully loaded with fans (2x 200mm in the top, 1x 240mm in the side, 2x 140mm in the side, 1x 120mm in the front, 1x 140mm in the back) And my cpu cooler was able to keep it stable at 4.1 Ghz OC at 40 degrees no matter the workload. back then i was running 200+ fps in every game on ultra.

All this changed after i bought the Mobo a while back, had to downclock it to keep it stable. my old mobo was an ASrock mini atx (can't remember the model)

It says nowhere that it has been running fine before, it says it has been running low fps for a long time.
You really need to read better.

Your OC that you had before removed your bottleneck, that's why it was fine. I suggest getting a mobo that support's high overclocks and OC it again, that will fix it.

I tried and failed badly, couldn't find where to plug the case headers, no indications on the mobo nor in the manual, and searched the internet for an hour, and decided to put it back together... sadly i did format my drives....

That's too bad man, the only option you have left to fix your problem is upgrading your pc :(

Yeah i spoke with a guy i know if he could get me some new parts cheap (he is a salesman for a distributor) and he will look into it, was thinking of a new motherboard now that i'm at it, Asus Sabertooth R2.0 and an AMD FX 8350

The sabertooth is a great motherboard and combined with the FX 8350 it will overclock very good, it's a great combo.

i know the issue.... fx processors have bad single thread performance hence the cpu is bottlenecking the gpu.... i suggest to oc your cpu.. you have not mch of a choice there
