Hi, i've just joined the forums. I'm pretty new when it comes to PC gaming, although i do have some experience like with counter strike in the past, however i want to get back into PC gaming. The laptop i currently have is not great at all, it's just a case of having enough money to buy a good gaming tower. These are the specs of my current laptop:

Most of you guys will probably laugh at this point & tell me to upgrade. As stated previously money is an issue at the moment to upgrade.

So, i have defragged my laptop, cleaned it as best as possible doing regular scans & using advanced system care to optimise my laptop as best as possible. I have disabled all unnecessary services & processes and checked to see if my CPU is parked in which case it is not. But still the game i try to run (skyrim) is laggy, even on the lowest settings. Is there anything at all i've missed out that could improve my gaming experience. Thanks in advance.

Post your specs would be a good start.

Keep in mind, sometimes you simply push hardware to the point it's not able to be pushed any further. You may simply be coming up against a finite limit, and if so, you'll just have to wait until you can afford to upgrade.

Sorry, must have been a slight mistake with the img tags, updated btw. But yeah i feel as though there is something more that can be done to improve performance. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
