Just ordered a Gigabyte R9 270X which is 297mm in length and a Zalman Z11 Plus which says it's maximum GPU Length is 290mm. Will it fit? I don't mind if it's a tight fit. Also, I was unable to find this anywhere but are the bays removable?

You rarely see a mid-range card that big [strike]so you might have your dimensions wrong.[/strike] But it'll most likely fit because if people can shove a 680 into a mini ITX system then I'm sure you can get a 270X into a mid tower. Just looked it up and its a windforce card so of course its unnecessarily long. Might have to look for another case or a shorter card. (I personally don't think zalman is the best brand to be buying a case from and that they should just stick with coolers) Oh and just by looking at the bay style they don't appear to be removable and its not listed as a feature.

Around that price range I'd get something like a HAF 922 or of course my favorite fractal design define R4

Eh, the GPU itself is pretty good for the price and nope, the sizes are accurate. I really don't feel like returning the case because that'll take forever, because I got it from Scan.co.uk. Oh well, if it comes down to it, a saw will come in handy :) If you do know of any other GPUs around the same price point, sold on Amazon and also are AMD CrossfireX compatible, let me know :)

The literature claims 290mm, but the picture shows one line showing 290mm and one showing 300mm. I'm assuming that's space to the outside of the drive bay bracket on the edges and space to the inside of the drive bay bracket, and no it isn't removable. You might luck out though. It looks like it might sit high enough in most motherboards to be above the bottom bracket and since you card has curved edges on the end it might just have the clearance poking a little bit into the bottom drive bay of the top section.

Here's a thread saying that it's more like exactly 295mm and like I said, since your card isn't flat on the end, you might luck out and it have the room to squeeze 4-5mm inside the drive bay.

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-R9-270X-DisplayPort-PCI-Express/dp/B00FR6XP6I a shorter and cheaper 270X from MSI which is a company I personally prefer more than gigabyte

MSI definitely has better customer support compared to Gigabyte.
