4GB Not worth it and u can always tweak settings to lower vram demand.

You`re crazy.

They are close in performance as seen here(review of the reference cards) http://techgage.com/article/amd-radeon-r9-290x-nvidia-g...

He asks for the non Ti GTX780 , so it`s a 290x vs GTX780, the 290x wins here in my opinion.

Firstly, get a better name brand SSD. The Kingston and Sandisk are cheap for a reason! Go with Samsung or Crucial
Secondly, get a larger PSU for your gaming needs. You need a 750 watt to run the r9 card.
Thirdly, I would go with the card that has the larger memory bandwidth. The 290x has 512 bit vs. the 386 bit of the 780. The 780 has the same memory bandwidth as the 280x. On top of that, it has an extra 1GB of memory.

Lastly, I would not put much emphasis on so-called "gaming benchmarks." They are usually only 90 seconds and do not tell you anything about real-world performance. I usually conduct 5 minute gaming tests and every time the max, min and avg fps are different. It will vary based upon the size of the map, how many players playing, action sequences, etc. You would literally have to conduct multiple (hundreds if not thousands) of samples and then conduct an ANOVA to scientifically conclude that the performance variation is based solely on the GPU and not other independent variables (i.e. time of play, maps, game modes, etc).

So I would go with the card that has the better specs for the money....R9-290x!

I agree on going for a R9 290X, sorry for the 780 vs 780Ti mishap

Marketing, marketing, makerting (in the Steve Ballmer`s developers voice) Do you play games that have Physx ? (Batman ... is there any other ? :)  )
Do you plan in buying an Nvidia Shield for now ? GPU Boost... really ? you can OC the AMD GPU as well.... ,G-Sync - are you gonna buy a G-sync monitor soon ?
If the answer to the above is NO .. then there goes all that stuff away.

Mantle for now is implemented into Battlefield 4 and Thief, for most of the guys it makes wonders, for some .. due to still being in a beta state it has issues ... Intel is also interested in Mantle btw.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWSluVC6-v4 - Here is what Mantle does to my PC vs DX 11.1

Keep in mind that MS is working on DX 12 that should be doing about the same stuff that Mantle does, taking away unnecessary load from the CPU and offloading to the faster GPU and for graphics side working more closely with the GPU for faster framerates.

I had Nvidia GPUs in the past, never cared about any Badge on the box that said PhysX, 3D etc etc ... CUDA .. yes.. Premiere uses it or other programs, but the rest... Same applys to AMD also ...It`s worth mentioned only if you plan to use Eyefinity, TrueAudio (still not sure what this does) , Mantle it remains to be seen if it catches or makes DX 12 get off it`s ass.

I'm just going to get g-sync 1440p when it's released, so what you think to get mantle or g-sync feature?
