PC can't connect directly to the modem

I have a TP LINK TD-8817 modem and 3 PCs.

I tried to connect one of them directly to the modem ( I wanted to bypass the router ) , but it didn't work. The couldn't see each other (the LAN led on the modem was off, so was the led on the back of the PC ).

I tried to unplug the modem and turn off the PC and then turn them back on (to bypass the modem's MAC address verification ) , but it also didn't work.

Then I tried the same with my other PC and it worked without any problems.
I also tried to "fabric reset" the modem. No success.
??

- I am not using any switches between the PC and the modem.
- It's not the issue with the cable, because it works when I'm connected to the router.

Any help would be appreciated ,

Thanks.

LAN Port is not the problem , since it works when connected to a router . Any other solutions?

do you have your Ethernet drivers installed properly? If you do have them installed (check in Device Manager for yellow '?' next to components), then just open Control Panel, select Network Sharing Centre and select Change Adapter Settings on the left side. From there, just right click "Local area connection" and select Enable.

Yes, because I have internet when I'm connected to a router (which is connected to the modem, of course )
