No video signal for 40 minutes - is it a faulty GPU?

Dear all

today I experienced during my desktop system startup no video signal at all.
System boots ok, all funs - including GPU's fun - are working, hard disk spins ok.

After repeated system startups for about 40 minutes, finally got video signal as normal and everything works fine.

Now I am about to replace the GPU with a new one, believing GPU is faulty. Do you think that it could be something else, for example PSU or motherboard?

My system configuration is:
motherboard: asus P5E3
PSU: CoolerMaster M620
GPU: Radeon HD 4850
System: Windows 8.1

thanks in advance

Solution
Doubt its the M620, as reviews have them as pretty decent PSU's unless its years old.

The P5E3 is an old SKT775 motherboard, so it could be having issues.

Before you splash the cash, try your card in another system or borrow one to test in yours.
