Hey. This is my second post about a PC build. I'm looking to build a Gaming PC that can handle most games on max settings or at least close. Also I will do video editing and surf the web quite a bit. I need the OS as well. Thanks to any responses. Also if you could recommend me most of the parts from Amazon that would be amazing. Thanks!

Edit: I also need the price to stay around 1000. If it's not to much over it's not a big deal.

Didn't see the amazon preference at first glace.

This is a good build, but I would switch out the PSU for a unit that is more reliable.

Price is the only issue. If your ok with upping the budget, the 770 will do better for you. The hyperthreading on the I7 is ideal for the viedo editing. The AMD is a great processor for gaming.
AMD systems will be cheaper overall. If the video editing will be a side project to the gaming than go for the AMD.

The 770 wont really increase your performance compared to the 280X because they are so closely matched. If you want a bigger boost in performance go for an R9 290 which is on par with a gtx 780

I wouldn't swap the FX 8320 for the 8350 since the 8320 can be overclocked to speeds very close to the 8350.

The GTX 770 is tied in performance with the 280x, but the 280x has 1GB more VRAM which can come in handy for future games.

You will NOT be able to overclock the 8320 with the motherboard with the 970 chipset. So just get the 8350 instead. Or you could get a better motherboard for OC and get the 8320 and OC it to 4ghz.

And the 770 is the same card, but costs a lot more! The two most important specs in any GPU are the stream processors (AMD) and CUDA cores (Nvidia) along with memory bandwidth!! They both have 3GB of 384 bit memory. But one costs more than the other.

I disagree. The new i7-4790k MAY perform better in those tasks. But overall the performance will be the same for both the 8350 and older i7s.

And I would generally like to thank EVERYONE in this forum for NOT AMD BASHING about how Intel is "a thousand times super-duper" better than their AMD counterparts. LOL LMAO.....or worse, trying to talk the guy out of not only not buying AMD, but not even considering it. LOL

It's refreshing to see objective opinions and advice being given.

I agree. AMD is great overall. Intel is better at some things but the cost increase is crazy. The vast majority of us dont scratch the surface on CPU potential on either. I want my better GPU with the savings!

I would not even consider that motherboard to be honest. There are much better boards for the FX series. Boards that can handle the FX-9000 series also for future upgrades. I will let someone else speak on if that particular motherboard is good for OCing.

I will say this, that motherboard has a 3 out of 5 star rating on Newegg. Personally, I DON'T purchase a product with multiple reviews that does not average at least 4 stars.

For the FX CPU, I would get a mobo with the 990 chipset!

That motherboard can easily oc to 4ghz as it has 8+2 power phases

Not "MAY" but "WILL" perform those tasks better, it has been proven in many benchmarks. The 8350 is only comparable to an i7 in multi threaded tasks but in single threaded it gets smashed
