I have a friend who asked me to fix his computer, I want to do something nice for him and add enough power so he can at least boot some modern games. He has a retail HP Pavilion p7-1254. He has some developmental challenges, and is not able to get any good paying jobs, thus doesn't have any money. I wanted to upgrade his PC without telling him. I only have about $150 max to spend. I just recently started building machines, and am not incredibly familiar with what the limitations of this processor/mobo or FM1 are. I am also very confused by the APU/Crossfire setup.

Can I simply add a GTX 750 ti or a R7 260x to this machine? The AMD page says something about recommending Radeon HD 6450 as the best pairing, but it seems too underpowered. I also read some other threads that recommend the HD 7750? Recommendations please?

Specs:
Processor: AMD A6 3620 (4 core /2.2-2.5ghz turbo)
Chipset: AMD Hudson(FM1)
Motherboard: Pegatron aahd2-hy (Holly) (it has an open pcie x16 slot)
RAM: 8gb x 1333mhz
Video Card: Radeon HD 6550D Integrated(512mb dedicated)
Storage: 1TB 7200rpm HDD
Power Supply: 300w (I have a 500w 80 plus bronze rated unit I will replace this with).
