I cloned the HDD on my Asus g750 laptop to an Samsung 840 250gb(brand new) straight after unboxing. Then i chose to optimize it (cause i ran into some issues, thought it would fix it) using another pc. Then I downloaded Samsung Magician on this pc to continue on the instructions that came with the kit. When I ran it, it wouldt recognize my SSD. The name of the SSD had changed to ''ASMT 2105 USB device'' (im not sure if it is because its conected through the usb cable). Magician couldt be used for optimizing and stuff unless there was an samsung ssd conected, and it was(!) but since the optimizing im not sure if the firmware was changed or something so the SSD iwas made in to an HDD?

Sorry im noob in the explaining, but this is unknown to me. Just ask if there is a lack of information.

ASMT 2105 USB device is the name of the SATA to USB bridge chip, and if you are connecting the drive via USB then it will report the drive as this name.

If I were you: I would take the original laptop drive and the new SSD, and connect them via SATA cables to a desktop. Then rerun the samsung magician clone thingy. Then, install the SSD back to the laptop.

No everything is ok then. The Magician just cant recognize it through the usb sata cable.

The sata mode is AHCI, i havent changed anything.

I managed to change the assigned letter (C:/) for the disk to E:/, so windows (basiclly everything) doesnt run because i changed the path for everything. I wasnt sure if optimizing it would repair that problem (on properties the comment said that it was running fine) so i tried. The only thing I can do now is reinstalling windows right?
