can i use my old cpu and old hard drive with a new mother board

my old mother board died so i bought a new one with the same lga 1155 socket to re use the old cpu and 1tb hard drive. can this be done? and how

Agreed. Most likely it will be fine though. I did not have to reinstall going from a P67 extreme4 to a z77 extreme4.

Windows is weird, i experienced some issues when changing the OS disk from one PC to another, even if they have similar hardware. That's why i recommend reinstalling OS.

Theoretically, that should not happen, because the driver package for the LGA1155 is the same for all MoBos.
