Problem with internet access

This problem appeared out of nowhere a couple of days ago. I have win. 8.1. I use a wireless adapter for connection. It says im connected to wifi and i have internet access, but when i open up a browser it says unable to connect to internet... Plz help

can you PING www.yahoo.com?

have you checked the Proxy settings?

have you scanned the system for Malware?

No i cant ping yahoo, and what should my proxy settings be?, and no my malware program (malware bytes) wont open for some reason

under the internet options->connections->LAN setting button, the proxy settings should be unchecked.

boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try to run Malwarebytes again.
