I have a microsoft 4500 comfort mouse, i bought it maybe less than a year ago and it's starting to malfunction quite annoyingly, so when im using it it starts not moving correctly and you can hear that usb sound when you insert a usb device into your usb port on your pc, the mouse stops working i have to switch it to another usb device this works for the usb devices i have but eventually after some minutes non of the usb ports work anymore when i restart my computer the mouse starts to work again of course with the same issues its a constant thing, why are computer mice so usless why do they have such a short lifespan? is there a computer mouse anyone can recommend me that will last a minimum of 5 or 10 years i want a high quality one that won't have usb problems or stop working it needs to be able to tolerate hardcore gameplay, and do you think any programs might be interfering with my mouse or is it just a peace of cheap junk?

Solution
Nothing is related to software.
Check that your surge protector is grounded and has proper earthing. Now also check that your cabinet usb is not damaged. Or rather remove the cabinet usb wires. And restart windows.
.
If you have consistent issues with all usb devices, then buy a wireless mouse.

Solution
If there is an intermittent break in the mouse's USB cable (i.e. it usually happens near where the USB cable enters the mouse and the mouse experiences heavy usage like gaming) there's not much you can do unless you know how to repair the cable.
