Sorry if this is the wrong section as I don't know where to put a question like this.

Anyways, I'm flying my desktop soon by airplane. The flight will be no longer than an hr or less. It's a very short flight. But I'm worried about something might break or something while in-flight. I'm gonna put it in the original box my desktop came from and etc. I wanna know if there's anything I should do before putting it in the box. Also, I'm flying my monitor too if you guys wanna add any pre-cautions with that too. Cause like everyone else, I like to have my rig as safe as possible.

Thank you.

Solution
I have done this (desktop) five times between Chicago and California; 4 hour flights with one plane change. In all instances the desktops were packaged in their original carton with the original fillers. No problems.

The carrier was Southwest Airlines (not that this matters) and the only thing to keep in mind is that the airlines will not take any responsibility for any damage during flight. This is an anti-fraud rule to prevent people from shipping already defective computers on their flights and later claiming damage by the airlines.

Go ahead and do it, no problems other than normal risks applicable to anything in baggage.
